About Jack
Jack Redman is a British pianist, organist, composer and singer. Working primarily as a pianist, he specialises in song and chamber music accompaniment across musical genres.
Career highlights include music staff credits for Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Lyric Opera Ireland and performances with The Sixteen and The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. He has performed at prestigious venues nationally including Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Cadogan Hall, and the Holywell Music Room in association with the Oxford International Song Festival.
Since he began learning the piano, Jack has been a keen improviser and composer. He now has a small collection of songs for voice & piano, as well as several choral works. The Oxford International Song Festival have commissioned Jack, and his choral music has aired on BBC Radio. In another creative vein, his ‘spoof’ arrangements made in collaboration with mezzo-soprano Milette Gillow have amassed over 3.5 million views on Instagram.

Classical Crossover
Under mentorship from acclaimed pianist Dominic Ferris (also his first organ teacher!), Jack has branched out into classical-crossover performance. He has played popular music and theatrical standards with a range of outstanding artists, including BBC Young Choristers of the Year Luca Brugnoli and Natalie Fooks. He was Assistant Director of Music for an October 2025 gala concert celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the Friends of the Royal Marsden, in association with Steinway & Sons.
New Music
Whether avant-garde classical music or ‘library’ music for film and television, Jack is well-versed in interpreting contemporary scores. He is an active session pianist and recording musician and enjoys being presented with the unknown. Recent work with The Sixteen includes the first performance of Will Todd’s chamber opera Angels on the Underground. With mezzo-soprano Lucy Gibbs, he won the prize at The Rebecca Clarke Competition for the best interpretation of a song by a living composer.
Opera
Since 2023, Jack has worked on the music staff at Glyndebourne, including new productions of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro and Handel’s Semele. For Semele, Jack played harpsichord and organ continuo for the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Also a regular music staff member at Lyric Opera Ireland, he most recently playing for The Barber of Seville in Belfast February 2026. Jack frequently works with solo artists performing on top international opera stages and is active as a coach and recording artist.
Duo Melus
Jack’s work with flautist Katie Taunton as Duo Melus is extensive. In February 2026, they jointly founded the Lisvane Music Festival in North Cardiff. Supported by the City Music Foundation, the duo are enthusiastic about presenting newly curated programmes to diverse audiences. They conduct workshops aimed across age-groups: toddlers; primary and secondary school; and care-home patients. Duo Melus’s longstanding performance project involves the revival of overlooked Welsh flute and piano works. Their November 2023 Wigmore Hall recital put the spotlight on the compositions of Grace Williams, Huw Watkins, and Rhian Samuel. Katie and Jack are actively commissioning new music. Their most recent commission by the brilliant young Welsh composer Nathan James Dearden was premiered at St Martin-In-The-Fields in March 2025 where Jack was previously a singer.
Education
Jack completed his postgraduate studies in piano accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music, with teachers Michael Dussek and James Baillieu, receiving a DipRAM diploma for his final recital and a Regency award upon graduating. He won pianist prizes for competitions at the RAM; also at the Patricia Routledge English Song Competition and the John Kerr Award. Since graduating he has participated as a Young Artist at the Oxford International Song Festival and Leeds Song Festival, receiving masterclasses from some of the foremost names in classical song, including Sir Thomas Allen, Elly Ameling and Julius Drake. He also took part in the Georg Solti Accademia opera course in Venice. He formerly studied at the Royal College of Music Junior department with pianist Thalia Myers, founder of the Spectrum piano series. He was an undergraduate student on the Manchester ‘joint-course’ between the University of Manchester and the Royal Northern College of Music.
Organ & St Peter’s Acton Green
Jack currently organises the recital series at St Peter’s Acton Green where he is Organist and Director of Music, featuring internationally acclaimed artists such as Harriet Burns, Ben Goldscheider, and Mark Viner. Jack holds an FRCO (Fellow of the Royal College of Organists) diploma and is active as an organ recitalist. He was formerly Director of Music at Holy Name Church, Manchester.
